Iomega Launches 1TB Super eGo External Hard Drive

After recently launching a portable media player, Iomega, the leaders in storage solutions comes out with a 1TB external hard drive called Super eGo which to me looks like a liquor flask.


The Super eGo uses 3.5-inch desktop hard drives. The external HDD has USB 2.0 connectivity and is powered by an Energy Star qualified adapter. Iomega’s Super eGo external hard drive comes with a one-year warranty and is available in midnight blue, jet black and ruby red for US$269.95.

Samsung 256GB SSD - World's Fastest and Largest Capacity 2.5-inch, MLC-Based Drive

Samsung's just announced their first 256GB SSD that all of us have been waiting for. According to Samsung this is a full 256GB solid-state drive and is said to be the world's fastest and largest capacity 2.5-inch, MLC-based SSD with SATA II Interface. This drive has speeds of 200MBps read and 160MBps sequential write.


Though not available currently, the amazing drive will be available from September. According to official sources the customers will also be able to buy the 1.8inch version.

Samsung's new 256GB SSD is also the thinnest drive with the largest capacity to be offered with a SATA II interface. With a sequential read speed of 200 megabytes per second (MB/s) and sequential write speed of 160MB/s, Samsung's MLC-based 2.5-inch 256GB SSD is about 2.4 times faster than a typical HDD. Samsung 256GB SSD is only 9.5millimeters (mm) thick, and measures 100.3x69.85 mm.

Super Talent Launches World's Smallest 8GB Flash Drive

Super Talent Technology, a leading manufacturer of Flash storage solutions launched the world's smallest 8GB flash drive.

These new drives include: PICO-A, with a swivel lid; the retractable PICO-B; and ultra small PICO-C. Super Talent’s patented PICO series USB drives are manufactured using chip-on-board (COB) technology, which enables up to 8GB of Flash storage to fit into an incredibly minute case. PICO-C drives weigh less than a nickel (about 4.7 grams) and measure only 31.3mm x 12.4mm x 3.4mm.
